We come to the Golden Nugget each visit just to stand in the foyer where the live plants and palm trees live among the beautiful waterfall feature.

The customer service in the restaurants, bars and on the casino floor was outstanding. The room could have been just a bit cleaner light, high dust but did not cause an issue.

Avoid the Deli at all cost. Stopped in for an evening of fun with my wife this past Saturday night. Since the Claim Jumper restaurant was closed despite advertising it would be open until 12 we wondered over to the deli.

First note,the deli does not particularly serve what almost anyone would consider "deli" food. We settled for burgers which were noted to be served with house chips.

Service was regular world below-average and closer to abysmal when compared to most any Casino. The food, on the other hand, was horrendous, inedible, quite possibly dangerous.

Premade restaurant supply chain "burgers" were room temperature and smelled of having been out like that all day. The "meat" was clearly spoiled.

The tomato was mush and the lettuce, despite having a color of green not found in nature, was browning. The "house chips" were stale kettle potato chips.

Despite being ravenous at this point we were left to end our visit to the Golden Nugget before it really got started.

The Casino itself had a nice looking, nifty entrance area but the gambling floor was very dark and close with very old style low ceilings.

This may well appeal to some but even as throwbacks we felt it tended to dingy rather than retro. As things stand we will be striking the Golden Nugget off our list of places to spend a day or even as it exists for now.
